Working Remotely from home - completing your site.

This transfer of digital information is quickly gaining popularity in the corporate world as a greening incentive.- It not only saves time, it promotes a paper free, chemical free, electronic transfer of information saving trees. Photo developing chemicals are slowly being phased out.

Tips for completing your site and keeping costs to a minimum:

TEXT -The most crucial content in a website. This is your department. If you can type and send an email with attached photos, you too can work from home. Text should be detailed and descriptive. Both long and short versions for use in various parts of your site.

PHOTOS - Preferably digitized photos, either scanned or digital, attached to your email. Tips for getting good results: Use the sun to your advantage. High noon in summer with the sun to your back is a great time. In winter, try a tripod and a longer exposure time. Watch the horizon and keep the photo level with it.

Find a SERVICE PROVIDER - They can be found all over the internet. Hosting (where the site will reside), domain registration (www.yourname.com), and special form features (reservations, credit card, email forms for added security), are the most demanded features these companies will provide. I can host your site in its design phase. You may first want to register your domain if desired. The first place to try would be with a service provider that offers many more things like: Reservation forms, credit card acceptance, hosting, and domain registration. Getting each of these seperately would be more expensive. These providers may offer the design of the page as well. If they allow you to do it. Ask them for a bid without the design included and give them my email if they want it. graphics@girdwood.net
