November 1st -  4th - Seattle - Bremerton
My horoscope reminded me that I should get in touch with my friends and visit their beaches. After performing surgery on my laptop upgrading the hard drive, I caught the Bremerton Ferry to go see my good buddy John. The full moon was rising over the twilight city scape. It was big and yellow, floating above the skyscraper silhouette. John, Paul and I played in a band called Jael back in the Seattle U. dorm dayz. It wasn't hard to find the Manette Saloon where Johns new band Polliwog was playing. We enjoyed a round of pool and a couple Red Hooks before he went up to jam. He envited me up to play lead guitar on one of our old songs. What a blast that was. Alive again. It reminds me that I should join up with Karl and form a band when I get back home. John invited me to stay with he and his wife and three boys 9, 5, & 2. I stayed for the weekend playing catch in the yard, jammin at Greg's with Paul and John. It was nice getting to know Katie Jordan, Kale and little Sorrel. I plan to stop in again.

Monday 5th - Bremerton - Port Townsend - Seattle
Sunny day! I chose to follow my intuition today and just drive where my inner self tells me. I headed north to Port Townsend but my intuition led me to Indian Island. As I sit typing this, I am basking in the sun on a beach with my feet sunk into the warm sand. It was right where I wanted to be when I woke up this morning. A little lunch and a barefoot walk down the beach before heading back to the city. Sometimes ya just gotta ground out and touch your feet to the earth. Arrived in Bremerton just in time to board the 5:10 to Seattle. That's so cool, I wasn't even planning. The view of the city coming into Seattle on the ferry is very cool. Ill have to do it again.

November 6th - 8th - Seattle
Sushi Bars! Gotta love em! Ive found a couple of nice ones within a few blocks of where Im staying. Wassaaaaabi! More sunny days here leading to bike riding along the waterfront park and lots of bliss time listening to waves and birds. Im heading south to see my step-brother Pat and his family tomorrow night.

Friday & Saturday November 9th - 10th Seattle - Issiquah - Tacoma
Sunny! Got out early and went to Tiger Mt.. in Issiquah. I had a good hike through the trail system. Nice place, well kept. It felt good to be back in a more alaskan like atmosphere. I've heard of paragliding here but I didn't see any today. I continued towards the Tacoma area in the mid afternoon and crossed the narrows bridge in search of a beach. The state park in the area was not very exciting. So its back to tour Tacoma and Fircrest. There was a grand sunset that I watched from the western shoreline. Nice houses in west Fircrest. I found where Pat and Nicole (my step-brother and his wife) lived easily.
The 3 cats were friendly but cautious. We chatted for a while, then went out to pick up some dinner to bring home. I got a tour through the part of town that was on Cops. We arrived at the best pizza place in town. It was a delicious pan pizza. That and a Red Hook Double Black Stout was da bomb. Its beer brewed with Starbucks coffee beans! I spent the night there and was visited by feline night prowlers in my sleep. I laughed to myself and shut the door.

The next day I enjoyed a showering in a shower made for a tall person. Nice. Nicole had to work. I showed Pat my digital photo slideshow and virtual reality stuff.  It was good getting to know him again. This is a picture of his cat enjoying the heat of the fire...

November 11th - 15th - Seattle
Continuous RAIN. Making plans on heading to Colorado for the holidays. Stopping in Utah for some mountain biking and paragliding. Snow boarding soon! I went to Gameworks to check out what this franchise of arcades was like. It was huge! They had games that had screens 3 stories tall with seats that moved like amusement park rides. All games used a "rechargeable" plastic card that you can put a dollar amount to or a time limit. The time limit sounds like the way to go! Unlimited Free games for 2 hours. I flew in a hang glider, skied, snow boarded, pod raced on Tatooine, X-Wing fighters vs. the Death Star, and a Harley through LA at high speed. I went to see my old friend Rafe Pearlman at his solo show to benefit his trip to Israel. He sounded absolutely amazing. Vocalizations so original and entrancing and powerful yet peaceful. I totally bought a CD. Cant wait to play it on the radio when I get back.

Friday and Saturday November 16th-17th - Seattle - Idaho - Utah
On the road to Utah. left Seattle at eleven am and arrived in bliss, idaho  at eight pm pm south central idaho. mostly great plains and cows. stayed at a motel with a short shower head. Headed south to point of the mountain the next morning through some great scenery. Arrived on the south side of the point around 2 pm just in time to try out my new wind speed reader. Josh and Bobby were out doing some impressive ridge soaring. When I got my wing out and walked to the cliff it was south at 20 to 25. I hung and watched the Zagi's (RC planes) and the hang pilots as the wind speed gusted to 30 mph. I got to talking to some folks. I mentioned Girdwood and to my surprise about 3 people recognized it. One person Sara says "Goodweed?" I laugh and immediately feel that this is going to be a great place. Sara says hi to Pete. Bobby asks if I met any of the skywalkers from Nevada last May. I say yes and he says that Kevin and Brian now live in Sandy. Brian works for Superfly, my second destination! This is getting way too good. I follow Bobby to the shop to see my friend Brian and check out the shop. It was good to see Brian again. Kevin is back in Nevada 'til monday. Brian and his wife Heather have invited me to stay with them any time I'm in Salt Lake. Their house is huge and they enjoy having guests.

Correction, its Draper, Utah. There were about 20 -30 other pilots flying throughout the area. The whole experience led me to plan to stay here between the holidays when Im not in Colorado visiting Mom and Mike.
Sunday November 18th - Draper, Utah - Point of the Mountain
The smoothie tasted extra awesome this morning. We packed up the mountain boards and paragliders. The 3 of us went to the park with their dog Marley. The slopes were green with tall grass. I totally love the feel of snowboarding on the grass in the sun on wheels. Im going to get a 3 wheel Outback mountain board and a Ozone Little Devil kite for windboarding back home on the flats at Bird Point. We saw Old Glory blowing hard from the North. This is very good for flying at North Point of the Mountain. We went up and parked next to Kevin's house on the point. Wow! He's got the awesome home. pictures of me flying next to his back deck will be posted soon. Launch was fun. It was a great ridge soaring location. I paraglided up and down the ridge for an hour and forty minutes as the sun set and the thin crescent moon descended into the vista. My first top landing was a good one.
A fellow pilot and I soar the North ridge during sunset.

The purple got more intense and then turned red.

We hung out for a while at Kev's. The view of the city at night here is amazing!

Monday November 19th - Utah
Brian and I headed to the south point for a couple tandem sled rides. It was fun sitting up front with hands free for photos. After that the wind picked up it was too windy so I went to the Paragliding Academy where Brian works. A great place to hang out. I watched the Alyeska video that they made from last may. I was in it! It was neat seeing the Eagle glacier footage. The wind never turned the right way for us so we rented a DVD and went home.
Me flying the Ozone Octane (custom trimmed Red Bull wing).
Tuesday November 20th - Utah
Sunny! Kevin dropped in with a student Craig. We hung out waiting for the wind. The 3 of us headed up to the north side. I snapped a photo of Kevin's house on the point and then hooked my harness into his simulator. It was very nice sitting in the sun with the great view of the city. We decided to go up to the top of north ridge to set up a wind sock. Kevin's dog Astro joined us. We saw some deer and a strong south wind. Lets hit the south side! Kevin offered me a flight on his Octane formerly owned by Chris Sanacroche! A sportier wing than my Electron. I took him up on the offer and with his help as ballast I launched into a 40 minute sunset flight. There were tons of other wings in the air making for a great experience.

Ridge soaring over south Point of the Mountain in Kev's Octane, UT - A great air traffic practice session.

Wednesday November 21th - Utah - Colorado
Sunny and windy. The wind was blowing too hard for a flight this morning so we got out the kite and mountainboard for a demo. After that I headed southeast to Colorado. It was around 300 miles to Mom's place in Cedaredge near Grand Junction. I toured their new house under construction and the surrounding property. It has a lot of potential and should make a fine ongoing landscaping project.

Thursday November 22nd - Cedaredge, Colorado
Happy Thanksgiving! We drove up to the Mesa at 11,000'. There was 3" of snow and still coming down. It was a lovely home cooked meal. Of course I was way too stuffed for dessert. Below are pictures of my parents motorhome and new house.

Friday November 23rd - Cedaredge, CO
Not much goin on today. Just touring the neighboring cities. Shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. Lunch at an old 60s style restaurant. We retired to the motor home for some sattelite TV. A Star Trek Marathon! Cool. Have you seen the new Star Wars: Episode II teaser? Check out Apple.com's quicktime movie site. what a tease.

Saturday November 24th - Cedaredge, CO
Cloudy. Working at my parents new house shoveling fill in preperation for gravel and concrete under the back deck. Landscaping can be fun with the right frame of mind. Mom and I went grocery shopping. I picked out a 6 of local pale ale called Flying Dog - Doggie Style. I liked it.

November 25th - 30th - Cedaredge, CO
Snow! Pretty lax time here. Not a whole lot going on. Waiting for a sunny day to head back to Salt Lake via Moab. Hopefully it wont be too snowy for mountainbiking. I look forward to kiteboarding with a snowboard at the point.
